Academy
The Academy of South Florida
was originally founded with
a vision of helping others to become successful working with computers. The goal
was to give the students the proper training and assist them to stand out in the
IT industry.
The school continues
forward today with one basic principle – to help individual students get a
high-quality computer education at an affordable price. Former students who have
graduated from The Academy of South Florida programs have been able to leave
with the skills and knowledge to be competitive in today’s job
market.
Historically, the school’s focus has been
toward the adult learner who desires to change careers and is looking for a
school that can accommodate their special needs. The training strategy has
been and is to teach these “career changers” the basics of networking and
PC repair before they go on to Microsoft and/or Cisco courses. By approaching
training in this manner, the Academy of South Florida ensures that the student has
a solid foundation in the networking field and thus apply what they are learning to
an actual network.
In the time since the school’s inception, the
school’s individualized approach to learning has allowed many of the students to
achieve both their career goal and the goal of The Academy of South Florida for
its graduates – success in the IT industry.
Mission & Goal
The Academy’s mission is to provide
students with first-class education, actual hands-on experience, and a unique,
personalized “student experience.” Our goal is to ensure that each student
obtains the proper tools needed to begin a career in the Information Technology
field.
The Student Experience
The
“student experience” is a signature of The Academy. The instructors and
staff strive to make each student’s time enjoyable, exciting, and rewarding. We
believe that a positive environment leads to success!
Students at The Academy have the opportunity to build one-on-one
relationships with instructors and staff. From day one, Admission
Representatives meet with students individually to discuss their educational
goals and career objectives. Periodically, instructors provide hands-on
internship opportunities and discuss effective study habits and test-taking
skills. This provides a point of reference for evaluating
progress.
